How to get more customers for your e-commerce business.
Direct-to-consumer selling has never been more accessible but with the lower barriers of entry comes intense competition to stand out and cut through the noise.
Establishing trust and credibility whilst selling your product at a cost-efficient CPA takes time and can be heavily influenced by seasonality or changing consumer trends.
Here’s how we approach marketing for e-commerce businesses to help them sell more products.
Direct Conversion
Optimising your ad campaigns to drive sales at the point of purchase. Spend time to make the buying journey as seamless as possible from seeing the ad to clicking ‘buy’.
Product or category awareness
What your audience doesn’t know, they can’t buy. For brands looking to scale, it can be challenging to stand out amongst the competition. Even more so if you’re in a new category that is unfamiliar to your audience. Delivering impactful awareness-driving ads can set the foundations for your brand to scale.
Traffic
In 2024, your website or Amazon page is your shopfront. Not every browser is a buyer but every buyer is a browser at some stage. Depending on the industry, a buying window can be months so getting them into your store so they can research means you will be front of the queue when they are ready to buy.
3 ways to get more sales
So how do you do it?
01
Define your target audience. It’s likely that you will already have data that you can use, from social media or existing customers, that you can combine with your target demographic to build out your ideal customer profile.
02
Decide what campaign objective you want to run, we've highlighted 3 of our most used above which can all be a good starting point depending on your goals.
03
Build some hard-hitting creative! For e-commerce clients, we advise working on your message hierarchy to combine with strong imagery or video that shows off your product in an aspirational environment. Customers are receptive to ads that sell the vision rather than the product so always communicate ‘why’ someone would buy rather than trying to over-explain what it is.
Platforms
Facebook & Instagram
Still the giant of the social media world and the most sophisticated in terms of targeting and format options available. Through either video or impactful imagery you can get your message across exactly how you want to.
Social media advertising is great for engaging with a brand-new audience and showcasing your brand and product on your terms.
Once you've chosen your approach, you then need to decide how best to get your brand in front of them.
For e-commerce clients, we usually recommend the three platforms below to give you the best chance of success.
Platforms
Amazon
As well as offering the biggest e-commerce site in the world, Amazon has developed an incredibly powerful advertising platform to help ambitious sellers stand out.
With a wide range of formats and targeting options, any brand that sells on Amazon can run activity that can take your e-store to the next level.
Platforms
Typically the most direct route to your store, here you can target your ideal customers when they are actively looking for what you are selling.
Commonly referred to as PPC (pay-per-click) you will only pay for those that actually click on your ad meaning this can be a much more efficient channel at driving immediate sales than social media ads.

Important to consider
Before you now go off and have some fun selling products, there are a few things you want to make sure you do before you pull the trigger.
-
Tracking
-
Reporting
They go hand in hand but before you run anything, you need to know what the impact is so setting up your digital tracking and knowing what the results mean will give you the confidence to scale!

Our Clients
Frequently Asked Questions
See the most frequently asked questions about our services.
How soon will I see results?
Depending on your goals, you may see results fairly soon after setting your campaigns live. We do advise that you factor in a ‘learning’ period into your campaigns to allow the algorithm to optimise.
Am I locked into a contract?
As standard, we offer no minimum terms on our retainers. This allows both parties the flexibility to adapt as we go.
What’s the difference between ad spend and management fee?
Your ad spend is what you directly pay to the platforms to serve your ads. Agencies will charge a management fee outside of this to plan and execute those campaigns for you.
What platforms do you specialise in?
We have experience with and offer a service for all major ad platforms. The most popular tend to be Meta, Google, TikTok and Amazon.
Do you shoot and create fresh content?
We as an agency don’t currently offer raw asset production as a service but work with a range of partners who would be able to help if this was needed.
Do you offer a free trial?
Unfortunately not due to the work involved. We do however have no minimum terms on our retainers so if you weren’t happy with the results then you can look at pausing or stopping any activity when it suits you.
